Sir Mix-A-Lot Releases a NFT Collection Honoring "Baby Got Back"
By LifeisNFTs

Hip hop legend Sir Mix-A-Lot is launching an NFT collection celebrating the 30th anniversary of his 1992 hit “Baby Got Back”. In partnership with META-X Studios, the “BIT BUTTS” NFT collection will go live on 9 May.

And yes, you’ve heard that right. The collection consists of 6,666 hand-drawn digital derrières (butts) by world-class animation artists. What’s more, Sir Mix-A-Lot has personally designed the rarest BIT BUTTS in the collection. So simps, you might want to keep an eye out on this one.

Sir Mix-A-Lot to raise funds for a good cause with BIT BUTTS NFT sale proceeds

Make no mistake. The cheeky NFT project with a purpose will raise funds for one of the most under-funded cancer charities. Unlike BIT BUTTS, colorectal cancer is no joke. Each year, more than 150,000 Americans are impacted by this disease with Black communities at particular risk. A share of each sale will go to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending this life-threatening disease.

“When the team at META-X showed me what they were doing it was a no-brainer for me,” said Sir Mix-A-Lot. “And as an artist entering this new medium of NFTs, the idea of designing my own branded butts was exciting. Add to it the benefit of raising funds for a great cause like Colorectal Cancer, and wow! I hope everyone enjoys grabbing onto some nice NFT booty while helping others at the same time.”

“NFTs are a supercharged media for storytellers,” says META-X Studios CEO Joe Sichta. “We chose BIT BUTTS as our debut launch because we all need a good laugh right now for a good cause.”

Nonetheless, Sir Mix-A-Lot and META-X Studios have released a 1-minute teaser about the collection at the NFT LA. To all of the NFT collectors who don’t take themselves too seriously, feel free to join META-X Studios’ Discord channel to get the latest updates about the drop.
